MAY, 2007 UPDATES
31-May-2007: My brother Steve turns 40 YEARS OLD today! He's a father of two, very talented drummer (used to play in Plastica with me), owner/president of Moving Pictures (primarily producing TV commercials), and all-around very YOUNG 40-year-old.

This weekend I'm looking forward to hacky-sacking with him in CT while swilling cheap beer and reminiscing about our mulleted days cruising on BMX bikes and going to Metal Church concerts.

31-May-2007: Check out today's new PHOTO! Laurie and I met "Weird Al" Yankovic after his Waterbury, CT concert last night. Laurie technically got to meet him first, crotch-first (!!), as he got up on the chair in front of us and gyrated for her during a particularly unruly performance of "Wanna B UR Lover." Backstage he gave me a hug & thanked me for the Virus Alert video and for working on the game with him. A lot of my work buddies at Left Brain Games (the game developers) were there, too. It was a great time!
30-May-2007: Gotta send you over to TheFameGame.com today; my video "1980s Keyboard Solo Medley" was a Silver Prize winner for April! The video is linked right on the homepage today. Great new site with really generous cash prizes; if you're an attention whore with a talent or gift to show off, be sure to upload your videos there and get all your friends to vote for them. This is an unsponsored link; I'm just a grateful prizewinner!
30-May-2007:Watch glimpses of me playing Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley" and Yngwie Malmsteen's "Trilogy" on a couple synths towards the beginning of Top 20 Synths, Episode 8 on SonicState.com!
28-May-2007: Sci-Fi Guys 1 is up on Newgrounds today, warts and all. It's my very first Flash movie, and it definitely shows. I spent all morning wrestling with this 7-year-old file trying to get it to sound better, but just tracking down the old fonts was challenge enough (embed? whatsat mean?), without even getting into all the sound issues.

Well, anyway, I could fill this whole page with the technical problems going on inside these old SFG ep's, but you'll see what I mean after watching them, as I upload them one by one in the coming weeks.

27-May-2007: Head on over and bid on this auction for my Alphabots 26-painting series. The opening bid set them at only ten bucks each. What a country! Where else can you buy 26 original paintings (made by a quasi-famous animator, no less!) for only ten bucks each?
24-May-2007: Tonight marks my final appearance in what will probably end up being my last band, PONG. We're appearing at Rookies in Cromwell, CT, so if you're a local, come on out and say hello! That is, if you're not already planning on seeing "Pirates" or watching the "American Idol" finale (ergh) tonight. These two mainstream juggernauts alone will probably wipe out our potential crowd!

Speaking of Pong, please head over to the Hartford Advocate's Grand Band Slam voting thingy and vote for Pong as "Best New Band," and Jenna for "Best Female Vocalist." And if you really feel like it, you could even vote for me as Best Keyboardist but I'd be a write-in. :-|

18-May-2007: Brand new look for umop.com today! For the homepage anyway. Fancy Flash interface to show off my Flash skills, and also (believe it or not) use about about a fifth the bandwidth. All those old PNG file cartoons really chewed in size.

Also added links off to the right for some of my favorite places to fart around all day. The umop.com sub-pages are all the same (for now), and yes, I shall be adding Google ads (and Search) off to the right to generate a minor trickling of beer money. Every time you click you're supporting my luscious pile of art wank, so please do! Now, the affiliate site links don't net me anything, so check them out instead if you're adamant about my not earning shiny pennies from your clicks. :o)

18-May-2007: Fans of my Packrat toons now have one more reason to appreciate CustomSynth.co.uk; in incredible place to go for any color or configuration of synth you could ever want made. Chief synth-morpher Jeff T. got the rat on his front page banner (and will also be mentioned in an upcoming 4-panel toon!) in exchange for a decent deal for his awesome-looking custom white Roland JX-3PG! This unit differs not only in color from a regular JX-3P, but it also has a PG-200 controller built right into the modded case! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry, I'll explain everything in my gear page once this baby gets shipped to me!
15-May-2007: I've decided there just aren't enough green synths in the world, so I created one especially for the FUNHOUSE. It's called the "Zymurgy," inspired by one of my Parallax songs.
14-May-2007: Today I was completely floored & flattered when Mark Ridlen, a fan of my Rock-Paper-Scissors game variants, sent me a link to his new RAP SONG mentioning my stuff! Thanks Mark! Good luck on the new album. :o)
12-May-2007: New WCCC COMIC talks about how far $200 in gasoline can take you in 1957, 2007, and 2057...
10-May-2007: Sonic State, makers of the incredibly fun & cool "Top 20 Synths" vids, recently edited together footage I shot for AHNE 2007 over the weekend. Here's the VIDEO... check it out!
8-May-2007: Uploaded my "Virus Alert" video to NEWGROUNDS today, in an effort to further promote the new game, VIRUS ALERT 3D! Besides being able to view it in pure, uncompressed Flash format, there are also scenes from the game you can preview, new pause/play functionality, and even an Easter egg (shh)...
6-May-2007: Today I'd like to announce the public availability of VIRUS ALERT 3D, a new Video Game starring "Weird Al" Yankovic, based on the song of the same name on his "Straight Outta Lynwood" album, and produced by and programmed at Left Brain Games. Several months in the making, the game features scads of animations by yours truly. Free demos for both PC and Mac available to lure you into ponying up $16.95 for the full version. It's awesome fun; kind of a cross between Robotron and Tron Laser Discs. Check it out and let me know what you think!
6-May-2007: Don't miss this YOUTUBE VIDEO I made featuring a classic Minimoog side-by-side with a Minimoog Voyager!
5-May-2007: Happy Syntho de Mayo! Today I'm heading over to Analog Heaven Northeast 2007 in Bolton, MA, otherwise known as AHNE 2007 (link), with a boatload of precious gear to show off. To celebrate, for the first time in well over a year, I've made a very special, very MOOGY new PACKRAT COMIC!
2-May-2007: Today I have a new YOUTUBE VIDEO featuring a demo of the ARP Solina String Ensemble IV. It's a very '70s wood-paneled synth owned by Mike at the Coffeehouse in Middletown, CT. I made it a week or two ago before the move but hadn't had the time to upload it yet. There's one more Coffeehouse vintage synth demo vid coming; I'll post it in a couple of days.
1-May-2007: Hello from Warwick (or more accurately, Pawtuxet - It's a borough of Warwick), RI, the new location of my proverbial stinking grounds. I've been here for about three and a half days now, and have already cluttered up my fiancee's basement, as seen in the new PHOTO! I guess I got tired of the crackfights in Middletown, CT keeping me up all night, and you can't beat shared rent, utilities, and SINS OF THE FLESH.
