NOVEMBER, 2007 UPDATES
30-Nov-2007: Heeeere's Dusty! Check out his new PHOTO, and here's a couple more also. Laurie called me downstairs last night to see what Santa left under the tree early this year: an eight-week-old Himalayan kitten. This blue-eyed bruiser has got to be the most adorable thing on Earth, which is probably why he'll get away with destroying all of my personal belongings. He's a chewer, all right. BUT! I've already found some great solutions online that keeps kittens like Dusty out of trouble: tin foil balls for cat-soccer, and most importantly drinking straws for *excellent* teething alternatives to the bajillion power and audio cords all over my office.

27-Nov-2007: A holiday toon from umop.com already? It's never too early for something that's six years' too late. Here's the 2001 parody-polluted classic, finally available again online at Newgrounds: SCI-FI GUYS XMAS!

27-Nov-2007: "Papu, Papu, He's very big and blue..." My strangely estranged friend Xeth has today released a brand spanking new animated cartoon: PAPU and the Undersea Space Zombies! Check it out, tell a friend, smash stuff, etc.

26-Nov-2007: Didn't give you much notice for that Turkey Day Widget, I know. So here's our latest one, with plenty of time to spare: Check out the 2008 New Year's Resolution Generator! I helped out with this one too... made the artwork and wrote all the zany content for it. With this widget, you can resolve you'll "stop nosemining unless it's behind the shed," and a trillion or so other possible habitual faux pas.

22-Nov-2007: Celebrate a Happy Tryptophan Day by downloading a completely brainless Thanksgiving Widget that I helped develop over at Left Brain Games: TURKEY DAY MASSACRE!

21-Nov-2007: Today's toon pays homage to my friend F. Scott "Mr. Ferris" Thomas, visiting my area for the holiday from down in Hot-lanta, GA. As some regular umop.com readers already know, Ferris is responsible for some of the nifty new PHP features on the site, and promises future updates just as soon as he can give his schedule a bit of an enema.

Also a big high five for my niece Emily who turns 8 years old today. Thankfully, she doesn't visit this relatively non-kid-safe website, which means this virtual high five's only hittin' virtual air, and I'll just have to do it in person at the Thanksgiving table tomorrow too.

8-Nov-2007: The never-ending parade of art on umop.com continues with a new WCCC COMIC!

For the uninitiated, these are comics that I periodically draw for Hartford Connecticut's #1 rock station, The Rock 106.9 WCCC. I'm local to the area, I used to intern there when I was out of work a few years back, and their various employees & DJs, past and present, are all kinda like a second family to me. So every time there's a big station event, I like to go out and see all my old friends there & get free drink tickets (heh heh).

Matter of fact, there's a Free Rock Luau from 4-7PM on Friday the 16th, so come on out and get drunk with me if you can manage a visit to Up Or On the Rocks bar in Hartford that night. Those things are always a good time, even for an introverted craphound like me. My friend's band ZOOM is even playing later on! Live, local, loud lasciviousness for everyone!

5-Nov-2007: It's been a long, long, LONG weekend finishing it up, and a long **LONG** seven months of your waiting, but hey man. Today's the day. I can't believe I actually get to tell you this, but... here goes... RETARDED ANIMAL BABIES 19 is, at LAST... ONLINE!

And now I can take another seven months off. I kid, I kid. I never PLAN to take so much time to do these things. I could probably make one every month, if it was my only job (i.e., if you and everyone you know bought a DVD or individual episodes! Yay!). I'm sure you regularly harken back to those good old days in 2003, when the first RAB toons came out every week or two... and wonder to yourself, "what the fu**, Dave?" Eeyeah. I was unemployed that year. This year, meanwhile, was chock full of logistical duodenum-spillers. I moved to Rhode Island in April (right after RAB18 was made), fixed that place up all summer, then moved BACK to Connecticut in August. Ever move twice in just four months? Bet you can guess how much it sucks, right? Wellsir. Now think about working full-time the whole time AND making RAB19 too. And all the other little creative things that make life worth living... the music and comics just for starters.

The worst thing about it all, for me, was the GUILT. Every spare second was spent in guilt, thinking, "I really should be working on that damned movie." Kitty thinks I'm crazy & I should just let it all go to hell... Working this hard wrecks a man, after all. But I can't let down my fans. Sure, I'll bitch and whine and beg for cash the whole time, but in the end, I make these films because you want me to. I can't let you down. So... thanks for reading all this... and for coming to umop.com, and for watching RAB films, and for all the rest.

And for the GUILT! BELOVED BASTARDS!

2-Nov-2007: Hey dudes... my girlfriend is totally bummed out from her job hunting. I want everyone who reads this to send me an email (click the envelope hamster below) with the funniest joke you can think of to cheer her up! I'll pack 'em all together into one huge whopping email for her from all of you! Out two-year relationshipaversary is on Sunday... I could give it to her then. I call her Kitty.UPDATE: She got a job today!!! Thanks for all the awesome jokes. I spent about half an hour reading them all to Kitty tonight.

1-Nov-2007: Startin' November out on a sad note... Penny Lovelace, my mother's 25-year-old cat, has finally, *finally* passed on today. Born February 1, 1982, Penny left this world at around 4 pounds, totally deaf & almost totally blind, with a scorching case of ear infections that refused years of attempted treatment. Still, I know she felt loved, and always managed a good purr whenever I pet her still-velvety orange coat. In my mother's own words, "she was a damned good cat." I added a PHOTO of Penny today in memoriam, taken just under a year ago.
